Acceptable Use Policy

Version 2026-10-25 · Last updated 25 October 2026

RokoVoice gives your business phone numbers and AI employees that talk to real people. This policy sets out how they may be used, so that calls stay welcome, lawful and trusted — for your customers, for other businesses on the platform, and for our telecom partners.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers every workspace on RokoVoice and everyone who uses it: the phone numbers you rent from us, the AI employees that call from or answer them, and any message sent through an integration. The person or business named in your workspace's calling account details is responsible for all calls made from its numbers.

2. Call only people who expect to hear from you

  • Call people who have an existing relationship with your business, asked you to contact them (for example by filling in an enquiry form), or gave clear consent.
  • Keep a record of how and when each person agreed to be contacted. We may ask to see it if we receive a complaint.
  • When someone says they don't want further calls, stop at once and remove them from future campaigns. Don't call them again from another number.
  • Never buy, scrape, or generate lists of numbers to call.

3. Promotional calls need the 140 series

India's Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations (TCCCPR) separate promotional calls from service and transactional calls. Promotional calls — offers, discounts, cold sales pitches — must be made from a registered 140-series number by a registered telemarketer, and must respect each person's Do Not Disturb (DND) preferences. Regulated businesses such as banks and insurers make service and transactional calls from the 1600 series.

The mobile, landline and toll-free numbers sold in RokoVoice are for service and transactional calls, follow-ups people asked for, and inbound calls. Using them for promotional or telemarketing calls is not allowed. If you need a 140 or 1600 series number, contact support.

4. Calling hours

Call between 9 am and 9 pm in the person's local time, unless they asked you to call at another time. Don't call the same person repeatedly in a short period.

5. Be honest on every call

  • Say which business is calling and why, at the start of the call.
  • If someone asks whether they are speaking to a person, your AI employee must say it is an AI assistant.
  • Don't impersonate another person, business, bank, or government body, and don't make false or misleading claims.
  • Don't hide or change the caller ID shown to the person you call.
  • If you record calls or keep transcripts, tell callers, and handle their personal data as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires.

6. Never allowed

  • Fraud, scams, phishing, or asking callers for OTPs, PINs, passwords, card or bank details.
  • Threats, harassment, abusive debt collection, or calls meant to scare or pressure people.
  • Selling or promoting anything illegal, including unlicensed betting, gambling, drugs, weapons, or counterfeit goods.
  • Sexual or adult content, hate speech, or content that targets people for who they are.
  • Election or political calling that doesn't follow Election Commission and telecom rules.
  • Calling emergency services, or tying up any line with automated or repeated calls.
  • Reselling, sub-letting, or transferring numbers, or routing calls to bypass the licensed telecom network.

7. Complaints and enforcement

Our telecom partner and the regulator monitor complaints against numbers. Repeated complaints can lead the carrier to block a number or a business's calling, and those penalties can follow the business. To protect everyone on the platform, we may — without notice and without refund — pause calling, suspend an AI employee, release a number, or close a workspace that breaks this policy or receives complaints.

We cooperate with lawful requests from telecom operators, TRAI, the Department of Telecommunications, and law enforcement.

8. Keeping your details accurate

The calling account details you give when buying your first number must be true and current. We, our telecom partner, or the regulator may ask you to verify them or provide KYC documents. Numbers may be suspended until verification is complete.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as telecom rules change. Each purchase records the version accepted. When we make a material change we'll tell workspace owners before it takes effect; continuing to use your numbers after that means you accept the new version.

This policy is a summary of how we expect the service to be used and doesn't replace the law. You are responsible for knowing and following the rules that apply to your business.
